I was born in the 60's and raised in a family with two older sisters who were teenagers during the 'hippie movement'. Peace & love were at the forefront of our social system in America and it affected me greatly in those formative years.
I've always been a peacenik! Maybe I'm naive but I believe with all my heart that some day we will live on a peaceful planet where there will be no more war and everyone will live in harmony with one another. My upbringing along with this belief is what has inspired me to start my very own PEACE PROJECT.
I've been painting images of peace for about two decades now but it wasn't until just recently while working on a film set in downtown Los Angeles (where the photo of me below was taken) that I realized consciously just what I was doing and what I was supposed to do with this obsession of mine. I'm supposed to paint images of peace and release them like seeds into the world!
The peace sign symbol is universal. Almost everyone can relate to it and recognize it. My goal is to paint hundreds if not thousands of peaceful images in the coming years. This will be my artistic contribution to society. It will not be done for profit but if money comes my way through contributions or commissions I will use that money to purchase materials so that I can keep on painting more peace signs. I'd like to paint murals on the sides of buildings and in restaurants and cafes too. It's the least I can do! And now I know... it's what I'm supposed to do!
Maybe I've given one of my paintings to someone you know, or maybe I've even given one to you! If so, please know that it was created with love and care while envisioning universal peace on this amazing planet of ours.
